Experience
I have been working as a fine art professional for over 30 years, specializing in oil painting and graphite drawing. My work has been featured in galleries on the east coast, Sea Worthy Gallery Hatteras NC, Core Sound Waterfowl and Heritage Museum Harkers Island NC, Arts and Things Gallery Morehead City NC and the Museum of NC Handcrafts Waynesville NC. It has won several awards through the NC Arts Council, NC Village of Yesteryear, the Arts Council of Wilmington NC, the Arts Council of Carteret County NC and The International Artist's Magazine.
My pieces have been featured for organizations such as Glaxo Wellcome, Caterpillar, Ducks Unlimited, Carolina Tiger Rescue and NC Sound Bank; festivals such as The NC Seafood Festival, The Core Sound Decoy Festival and The Mattamuskeet Waterfowl and Decoy Festival. It has also been featured in the publications of The NC Resource's Commission Wildlife Calendar and Hunting & Fishing Collectibles Magazine.
Style
My work is influenced by the vibrant colors and textures of nature, as well as the emotions and experiences that we all share. I strive to create fine art paintings that are visually stunning, emotionally impactful and reveal the beautiful world around us.
Process
I begin each piece with a vision in mind but allow my instincts to guide me as I work. I believe that the process of creating art should be just as fulfilling as the finished piece.
Whenever drawing or painting I strive to maintain a realistic form and cohesive composition staying true to what is visually before me but allowing interpretations on color and light.
